Position Overview

Kessler's Inc. is expanding its workforce and is in search of a dedicated individual to fill the role of Assistant Manager for our Front End Operations. We pride ourselves on delivering Exceptional Experiences for both our Team and Customers. This position is vital in supporting the daily functions of our Front End department within our grocery store.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure that team members do the same.
  • Implement and uphold Kessler's Customer Service Standards.
  • Oversee checkout operations to minimize customer wait times, calling for additional staff as necessary.
  • Manage cash transactions and ensure accuracy in till operations.
  • Ensure compliance with proper bagging procedures and assist as needed.
  • Supervise the timely return of shopping carts.
  • Facilitate training for new employees and monitor their progress.
  • Operate and troubleshoot the Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Process purchases efficiently, including scanning and weighing items.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues to ensure satisfaction.
  • Complete incident and corrective action reports as required.
  • Manage customer returns in accordance with company policies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front end and parking lot.
  • Proactively identify and address operational challenges.
  • Ensure confidentiality in all job-related matters.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Manage staff breaks and coverage for absences.
  • Assist in addressing personnel matters in collaboration with the Assistant Store Director.
  • Conduct regular audits of store operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding of store policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to embody Kessler's Core Values in professional interactions.
  • Skill in training individuals with varying levels of experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within the Front End Team.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a retail environment.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, and lift up to 75 lbs. throughout the shift.
