Job Title: Ground Transportation Monitor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ground Transportation Monitor to join our team at SP Plus Corporation. As a Ground Transportation Monitor, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of ground transportation services at the airport, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist passengers in navigating through the airport, providing accurate information and directions.
  • Direct taxicabs to passengers requesting one, ensuring a sufficient number of vehicles are available.
  • Dispatch taxicabs to various loading points at the terminal, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, co-workers, and supervisors, addressing any concerns or issues.
  • Write factual reports regarding any deviations from normal operation, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Order luxury limousines when needed, logging information on limo logs and maintaining a high level of organization.
  • Identify and report any safety issues immediately to the supervisor, prioritizing the safety of passengers and employees.
  • Clean and maintain the surrounding work area, including glass cleaning and sweeping of trash, maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization.
  • Complete other duties as assigned, demonstrating a high level of flexibility and adaptability.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of hire.
  • Knowledge of the metro area is desirable.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Prior airport experience is preferred.
  • Must have an excellent attendance record and arrive on time when scheduled, with access to reliable transportation.

Availability to Work:

Special shift requirements may vary depending on the location's hiring needs. Availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and/or weekends may be required.

License Requirement:

The individual will only be required to have and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license, with a current address and acceptable driving record, if the individual is expected to drive a company vehicle or drive on company business.

Language Skills:

Must be able to read and write English exceptionally well, with the ability to communicate effectively with passengers, drivers, and co-workers on socio-economic levels.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, with the ability to make sound judgments and educate others about policy/procedures.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Ability to carry out assigned tasks and duties completely and effectively, with the ability to perform assigned duties with minimal supervision and demonstrate fair and impartial judgment.

Materials and Equipment Directly Used in Role:

Two-way radios, various report forms, information logs, brochures, pens, and pencils.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, talk, and listen. Employees are regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, including snowstorms and extreme heat. This position is 100% outside work, with employees working in and around potentially dangerous traffic situations, requiring a high level of safety consciousness at all times.
