Key Responsibilities:

To excel in this role, the individual must effectively manage the following duties:

  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients experiencing hand injuries or disorders to identify functional limitations and establish treatment objectives;
  • Implement hands-on therapeutic interventions aimed at alleviating pain, reducing swelling, restoring range of motion, enhancing strength and coordination, and facilitating daily living activities;
  • Instruct patients and their families on hand anatomy, preventive measures, home exercise regimens, and adaptive strategies to maximize recovery and foster independence;
  • Work in close collaboration with physicians, surgeons, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to guarantee comprehensive and coordinated patient care;
  • Accurately document patient evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, and outcomes in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies;
  • Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing occupational therapy practice and patient care;
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

The following qualifications are essential for this position:

  • Possession of a current and valid NYS Occupational Therapist license;
  • A valid Hand Therapist certification is mandatory;
  • Graduation from an accredited Physical or Occupational Therapy Program;
  • 1-2 years of experience in occupational therapy is preferred;
  • Current BLS or CPR certification;
  • A strong passion for hand therapy, hand anatomy, and patient care;
  • Outstanding communication and customer service abilities.

Additional Information:

  • This role may necessitate occasional travel between practice locations and associated facilities as required.
