About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead and work on various Minerals and Metals projects from our Scottsdale, AZ office. As a key member of our team, you will participate in a wide range of exciting projects by leading structure and foundation design for industrial buildings, equipment, and service platforms, pipe/cable racks, ducting supports, retaining walls, and other industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide project team leadership by directing project execution activities and discipline deliverables for projects.
  • Coordinate activities with other disciplines and clients' resident representatives.
  • Produce engineering documents such as design reports, cost estimates, and construction specifications, bid documents, bid evaluations, engineering directives, and other data, according to client specifications.
  • Perform quality checks for all design work to ensure compliance with AR QA/QC requirements.
  • Review concrete rebar bending schedules and steel connection designs and shop drawings.
  • Prepare engineering manhour estimates and schedules.
  • Provide technical assistance to civil/structural superintendents and craft to ensure best resolution for all parties for any technical issues arising in the field/plant.
  • Perform inspections for structural engineering activities in site/plant.
  • Provide problem resolution for structural engineering issues in site/plant.
Requirements
  • B.S. or M.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Fifteen years of related experience since bachelor's or fourteen years since Master's.
  • Project experience in heavy industrial fields, such as Mining & Metallurgy, Oil & Gas, Acid Plant, Fertilizer Plant, etc.
  • Experience in design and analysis of structural concrete and structural steel.
  • Familiarity with ACI, AISC, ASCE, and IBC standards and codes.
  • Proficient with Staad, RISA, MathCAD, AutoCAD.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, ability to maintain confidential information critical.
  • P.E. license is required (preferably in Arizona, Utah, or Nevada).
  • S.E. license is preferred.
