Job Description

Job Purpose:
Work collaboratively with the Administrative Leadership Team of the Community Service Board, the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), and the Georgia Council on Substance Abuse to ensure cohesive leadership for Recovery Coaches delivering services in the Addiction Recovery Support Center. Oversee individual and group performance management for CARES Recovery Coaches, ensuring that the principles and values of recovery are integrated into all service aspects provided to individuals, families, friends, and allies. Engage closely with the CSB Administrative team and DBHDD on financial and programmatic budgeting. Foster and enhance collaboration between the Addiction Recovery Support Center and community stakeholders.

Duties:

  • PROGRAM OVERSIGHT: Ensure that ARSC programming adheres to the service guidelines established by DBHDD. Collaborate with the DBHDD program officer and GCSA to implement best practices in delivering recovery support services.
  • COORDINATE AND DEVELOP PROGRAM: Partner with ARSC Recovery Coaches, community stakeholders, and the ARSC Advisory Board to coordinate all facets of ARSC Programming. Design services that align with the service definition to meet community needs.
  • SUPPORT, DEVELOP, AND SCHEDULE RECOVERY COACHING SERVICES: Provide one-on-one and group performance support to recovery coaches. Organize ongoing training and development for recovery coaches. Schedule recovery coaching services to address community needs. Monitor boundary management and make necessary adjustments.
  • PROVIDE RECOVERY COACHING SERVICES: Step in as an effective recovery coach when required.
  • DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN RELATIONSHIPS WITH COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS: Cultivate strong working relationships with local stakeholders, including hospitals, recovery groups, local law enforcement, and treatment programs. Act as a liaison between ARSC and stakeholders in partnership with the Community Service Board. Coordinate outreach efforts to promote community connections and collaborate with community-based recovery supports and service providers.
  • MAINTAIN AND UPDATE RECORDS AND DATA: Collaborate closely with CSB on evaluation, data tracking, report writing, and record keeping.
  • PRESENCE AND ATTENDANCE: Adhere to scheduled work hours and follow agency procedures for reporting absences. Demonstrate good attendance and time management skills. Travel as necessary.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist (CARES) certification required.
  • CPS-AD certification indicating passing grade on CARES Exam required.
  • Proficiency in providing peer support.
  • Extensive knowledge of the addiction recovery process and principles of a recovery-oriented system of care.
  • Familiarity with the recovery community, services, and resources.
  • Ability to provide development and performance support for multiple CARES (CPS-AD) recovery coaches.
  • Understanding of and ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with staff and community partners.
  • Cultural Competency skills and experience with culturally diverse populations.
  • Strong customer service ethic.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and Excel.
  • Experience with staff leadership preferred.
  • Ability to develop and support a database preferred.
  • Experience working in or around a healthcare setting.
  • Experience working in a HIPAA compliant environment preferred.

Minimum Education:

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience (2+ years) in the prevention, treatment, or recovery field required.
