About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Amergis. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for assessing students' communication skills and developing treatment plans to minimize the adverse impact of communication disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess students' communication skills for the purpose of identifying communication disorders, determining program eligibility, and developing recommendations for treatment.
  • Collaborate with various groups and/or individuals to communicate information, resolve issues, and provide services in compliance with established guidelines.
  • Coordinate meetings and processes for eligible students, including testing/screening, IEPs, parent conferences, pre-referral staffing, and presenting evaluation results, developing treatment plans, and/or providing training to parents/students/staff.
  • Develop treatment plans, interventions, and/or educational materials to minimize the adverse impact of communication disorders in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Instruct eligible students in the use of appropriate communication technologies, such as hearing aids, FM systems, augmentative communication devices, and other assistive technologies.
  • Maintain files and/or records, including progress reports, activity logs, billing information, treatment plans, required documentation, quarterly reports, screening results, and other relevant data.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars, including training, IEPs, team meetings, and other professional development opportunities.
  • Provide speech and language therapy to students to minimize the adverse impact of speech and language disorders on student success.
  • Seek appropriate in-service and professional development to stay current with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary to support the team and achieve organizational goals.
Requirements
  • Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) licensure in the state of assignment is required.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) is preferred and may be required by state/contract.
  • Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice is essential.
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • Current CPR certification, if applicable.
  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, if applicable.
  • Current Health certificate, per contract or state regulation.
  • Meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training, as applicable to the job site.
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals, including supervisors, co-workers, clients, via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required.
  • Computer proficiency is necessary.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
