Objective of the Position

The main objective of this position is to execute the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility. This role is essential to ensure that our environment is kept clean, safe, and comfortable for all residents and staff.

Authority Delegation

As a Housekeeping Attendant, you are entrusted with the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to fulfill your assigned tasks.

Educational Requirements

A minimum of an 8th-grade education is required.

Experience

No prior experience is necessary as on-the-job training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

The following duties outline the essential functions of this role. However, this list is not exhaustive, and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed:
  • Adhere to established cleaning schedules as closely as possible.
  • Report all incidents, regardless of severity, to your supervisor promptly.
  • Coordinate daily cleaning services with nursing staff during routine assignments in resident areas.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding user ID codes and passwords for accessing resident information.
  • Safeguard residents' protected health information and report any breaches to the Administrator.
  • Notify the Administrator of any unauthorized attempts to access facility information.
  • Participate in departmental and staff meetings as required.
  • Execute specific tasks according to daily work assignments.
  • File any complaints or grievances with your supervisor.
  • Report suspected incidents of fraud to the Administrator.
  • Ensure that unattended departmental computer workstations are logged off or secured in accordance with facility policies.
Specific Qualifications
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Capacity to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive feedback.
  • Ability to interact tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, and government personnel.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of supplies and equipment, and conduct regular inspections of resident rooms for sanitation and safety.
  • Willingness to collaborate effectively with other staff and engage with residents at their respective maturity levels.
  • Openness to exploring new methods and principles to enhance existing housekeeping practices.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions regarding the preparation of cleaning solutions.
  • Capability to communicate information regarding residents' conditions.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.
