We are seeking a highly skilled Field Engineer - Auxiliaries Systems Specialist to join our team at AdvantEdge Technology, Inc. as an Auxiliary Systems Electrical Technician and Mechanical Assistant on the Self Defense Test Ship (SDTS).
Key Responsibilities- Support the SDTS as a Full Time position, filling a Field Engineer position as an Auxiliary System Electrical Technician and mechanical Assistant.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of auxiliary systems, including HPAC, LPAC, Hydraulic Units, and refrigeration equipment.
- Utilize electronic test equipment for troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
- Work independently to complete onboard maintenance requirements and support overnight underway evolutions.
- Take log readings and stand underway watches as required.
- Support shipboard firefighting certification and serve on the ship's Damage Control Fire Party.
- Perform and complete tasks with limited guidance, following company policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 7-9 years of experience, or no degree and equivalent combination and training, and applicable auxiliary systems experience.
- Experience with York and Carrier Air conditioning units 100 tons or more.
- EPA Universal Certificate is required.
- Ability to read and understand EOSS procedures and troubleshoot electrical equipment to determine root cause failure modes.
- Experience and competence in US Navy Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
- Basic computer Microsoft Office skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and data entry.
- Valid driver's license with own transportation.
- No criminal record and ability to satisfactorily complete background check.
- Shipboard Fire Fighting Training
- Any Auxiliaries type 'C' School
- Ability to climb up and down shipboard vertical ladders.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to pass Shipboard Fire Party School.
- Ability to get underway to support mission operations.
