We are collaborating with a prominent engineering design and consulting firm to identify a qualified Project Engineer specializing in Land Development and Infrastructure Design. Below is a detailed overview of the position.

Essential Qualifications for the Project Engineer:

#1. Proficiency in essential software tools including Civil 3D (with a focus on corridors, grading objects, and storm sewer systems), ICPR, SedCAD, Hydraflow Hydrographs, Hydraflow Storm Sewers, HydroCAD, and WaterCAD.

#2. Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license or the capability to obtain one.

#3. A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering design and project management.

#4. No more than 4 job changes in the past decade.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster strong collaborative relationships with team members.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior staff.
  • Assist the Department Manager in preparing engineering proposals.
  • Support the Department Manager with monthly invoicing for projects.
  • Help manage project timelines and staff schedules.
  • Act as a point of contact for clients, review agencies, contractors, and internal planning departments on land development projects.
  • Engage in civil site and land development design, permitting, and construction oversight for a variety of projects.
  • Utilize Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D for project design.
  • Conduct technical design calculations related to land development projects, including storm drainage and water distribution modeling.
  • Review engineering documents for compliance with project specifications.
  • Perform preliminary engineering assessments, including quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
  • Participate in meetings with clients and stakeholders throughout the land development process.
  • Conduct site visits and prepare relevant field reports.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant civil engineering design and project management experience.
  • PE Licensure, or actively pursuing licensure in North Carolina and/or South Carolina is preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Civil 3D and other relevant software.
  • A strong commitment to professional development and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
  • Must pass a drug screening, background check, and maintain a satisfactory driving record in accordance with company policies.

  • This is a fully in-office position.
