About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all hotel equipment, including HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Equipment Installation and Replacement: Install and replace lighting fixtures, bulbs, and other equipment as needed.
  • Cleaning and Inspections: Clean carpets and rugs, and visually inspect and test machinery and equipment to detect malfunctions.
  • Problem-Solving: Diagnose and repair machine malfunctions, and communicate with supervisors and other maintenance workers to resolve issues.
  • Physical Structure Maintenance: Repair and maintain the physical structure of the hotel, including walls, floors, and ceilings.
  • Furniture and Fixture Repair: Fabricate and repair furniture and fixtures as needed.
  • Training and Development: Attend scheduled training classes and meetings to stay up-to-date on new technologies and procedures.
  • Customer Service: Respond to customer requests in a timely and personable manner.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience as a hotel engineer or comparable maintenance experience at an establishment such as an apartment complex or office building.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead yourself and make a positive impact on the team.
