The Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for managing the sales territory and promoting our specifiable and traditional piping products while meeting or exceeding our growth goals. The position requires the individual to manage independent sales agents (reps) and network with our customers including distributor partners, contractors, engineers and end-users while developing long-term, trusting relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and Motivate Local Reps: Provide guidance and direction to local sales representatives to ensure they meet their sales objectives.
  • Establish Sales Objectives: Set and monitor sales objectives for reps to ensure they are meeting their targets.
  • Generate New Business: Utilize existing and potential customer networks to generate new business opportunities.
  • Build and Maintain Customer Relationships: Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers to ensure their needs are met.
  • Obtain Favorable Product Specifications: Work with local engineering firms to obtain favorable product specifications.
  • Plan and Allocate Resources: Plan and allocate time and resources to ensure sales goals are met.
  • Track Leads and Project Opportunities: Track leads and project opportunities to ensure they are followed up on in a timely manner.
  • Handle Regional Pricing Strategy: Develop and implement a regional pricing strategy to ensure competitiveness.
  • Interact with Internal Departments: Interact with internal departments such as Customer Service, Operations, Supply Chain and Marketing to ensure seamless communication.
  • Provide Technical Presentations: Provide technical presentations and on-site training to engineers, contractors and distributor partners.
  • Resolve Conflicts: Resolve conflicts and provide solutions to customers in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • College Degree: A college degree is required, with a preference for engineering or business.
  • Sales Experience: 3-5 years of sales experience in the plumbing or industrial industry is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical, analytical, negotiating and communication skills are required.
  • Computer Skills: Strong computer skills, including MS Excel, are preferred.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills are required to manage multiple priorities.
  • CRM Software: Familiarity with CRM software is required.
  • Business Acumen: Intuition for business with a problem-solving attitude is essential.
  • Travel: Regular travel within the sales territory is required.
