Position Overview:

The Certified Medication Aide plays a crucial role in the healthcare team by preparing and administering medications under the guidance of a Licensed Nurse. This position also encompasses responsibilities as a Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) when required.

Available Shifts: 1st and 2nd shifts; Double weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

Medication Administration:

Responsible for the preparation, administration, and documentation of medications in accordance with established protocols and regulatory standards, under the supervision of a Licensed Nurse.

Personal and Nursing Care:

Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Support residents during meal times and ensure proper nutrition by documenting food intake. Engage residents in recreational activities and assist with their mobility and positioning.

Follow individualized care plans, execute restorative and rehabilitative tasks, and report any changes in residents' conditions to the supervising Nurse. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any incidents or accidents as necessary.

Safety and Infection Control:

Adhere to safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene and the use of personal protective equipment. Report any safety violations to the supervisor promptly.

Training and Development:

Participate in orientation and ongoing education as mandated by state regulations. Complete all required online training as directed by the facility.

Resident Rights and Interactions:

Understand and uphold all regulations regarding residents' rights. Foster positive relationships with residents, their families, and regulatory agencies by maintaining a professional demeanor.

Additional Responsibilities:

Assist with the admission, transfer, and discharge processes of residents. Engage in staff training and development activities, including orientation for new team members.

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

This role requires working in a controlled environment, with potential exposure to infectious diseases. The position involves various physical activities such as walking, lifting, and fine motor skills. The ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff is essential.

Qualifications:

Candidates must be a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) and a Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) in good standing with the state. Strong communication skills and the ability to follow both oral and written instructions are necessary. A positive attitude towards residents and families, along with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, is essential.
