Job Title: Substance Abuse Treatment Nurse Specialist

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year

Job Description

The Substance Abuse Treatment Nurse Specialist plays a vital role in our team, providing compassionate and evidence-based care to patients undergoing medical detoxification. This position requires a skilled nurse who can assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care provided to adult patients within our organizational philosophy and goals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to the assessment and management of medical detoxification, as well as excellent communication skills to interact with staff, physicians, and other departments in a collegial relationship to meet patient needs.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Graduation from an NLN-accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Registered Nurse licensure.
  • A minimum of one year of professional nursing experience required; previous detoxification/rehabilitation experience preferred.
  • Baccalaureate degree desirable.
  • Successful completion of orientation and required certifications (IV and BLS certifications)
  • Addictions nursing certification desirable.
  • Meets or exceeds performance standards within the probationary period.
ADA Requirements & Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to speak and hear sufficient enough to communicate effectively by phone and/or in person at normal volumes. Manual dexterity is required to take notes and simultaneously document pertinent information. Vision should be adequate enough to allow for focus adjustment to read charts, computer screen, forms, etc. Significant time may be spent on the computer entering information which requires attention to detail and accuracy. The incumbent will deal with a wide variety of people on various issues and will be placed under significant deadlines associated with this position.
