Job Overview

Soliant is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of School Nursing to lead our nursing department and oversee the health services provided across our schools.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in school nursing, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and oversee the district's health services program, including policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Supervise and support a team of school nurses and health aides, providing guidance, training, and professional development.
  • Coordinate with school administrators, teachers, and parents to address and manage student health concerns and emergencies.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal health regulations, including maintaining up-to-date medical records and reports.
  • Develop and oversee health education programs for students, staff, and families on topics such as disease prevention, health promotion, and wellness.
  • Manage the budget for the health services department and allocate resources effectively.
  • Collaborate with local health agencies and community organizations to enhance health services and resources for students.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of health services and programs to ensure effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid Illinois nursing license; advanced certification in school nursing or a related field preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in school nursing or a related healthcare field, with at least two years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of school health regulations, immunization requirements, and health promotion practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders.
  • Proficient in data management and health information systems.
