Alpha Technologies stands at the forefront of designing, manufacturing, servicing, and supporting precision rubber and polymer laboratory instrumentation and data acquisition/analysis software systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the vendor qualification and selection process for all new product initiatives.
  • Engage in negotiations with suppliers to achieve quality, delivery, and cost targets.
  • Formulate strategic procurement strategies for designated commodities.
  • Maintain and enhance vendor relationships.
  • Initiate, assess, and implement corrective measures to uphold vendor performance.
  • Drive efforts for inventory reduction while ensuring the availability of materials.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and Kaizen/Lean/Six Sigma projects.
  • Build and sustain relationships with supplier personnel and internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Conduct contract negotiations to secure the most favorable terms and conditions.
  • Manage new part setups within the MRP system.
  • Analyze market and supplier conditions that could influence future procurement activities.
  • Monitor current and potential sourcing markets, developing strategies based on gathered market intelligence.
  • Identify and spearhead process enhancement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Materials Management, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 6 years of strategic sourcing experience in an engineering or manufacturing context is essential.
  • Experience sourcing electrical or machined components is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and data management capabilities are necessary.
  • Project management skills are required.
  • Ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities are crucial.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in leading and adapting during periods of change.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in PC applications, including MS Office.
  • Familiarity with MRP principles and materials management in a manufacturing setting is beneficial.
  • APICS and/or CPM certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of import/export regulations and compliance is advantageous.
  • Ability to collaborate across various geographies and departments.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
