Surgical Technologist Job Description

Rivers Edge Hospital is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in Saint Peter, MN. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist surgeons and operating room staff during procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and handling instruments and equipment with precision.
  • Process and sterilize instruments, ensuring they are ready for use during procedures.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth and efficient operations, anticipating the needs of the surgeon and patients.
  • Participate in the orientation and training of new staff members, sharing your expertise and knowledge to ensure a seamless transition.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new policies and procedures, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a surgical setting.
  • Current certification as a Surgical Technologist.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
