Executive Director of Infrastructure Development

This is a senior leadership role that oversees the development, coordination, and implementation of the company's strategic plan for the heavy civil infrastructure market. The successful candidate will direct the operational management teams in the strategic execution of work to achieve established business goals, including environmental, health and safety, productivity, schedule, financial, and quality objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the management teams responsible for multiple projects, including resource planning and scheduling, construction means and methods, client relations, negotiations, quality, productivity contracts, and job costs and project controls.
- Foster and maintain a strong safety and health-focused culture throughout all operations.
- Mentor and develop others by providing constructive feedback and praise on observed behaviors.
- Support the Operational Management Team to achieve best performance and attainment of business strategic goals.
- Ensure adequate personnel resources are in place and their skills and competencies are effectively leveraged.
- Contribute to performance reviews and people staffing decisions within the company.
- Ensure compensation rewards are fair and equitable and directly tied to performance.
- Build a team culture throughout the company and between other business units and departments.
- Direct the execution of standard project management protocols and aid the team in analyzing and resolving problems that arise within project execution, including negotiations with clients as needed.
- Review financial statements, bid and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
- Foster and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, expecting lessons learned, best practices, and operational excellence each and every day.
- Actively foster and maintain business development relationships and opportunities.
- A bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in heavy civil, structural, marine construction combined with ten years' experience in successful project management of both public and private work.
- Significant competency in business principles and leadership/human relations.
- Computer literacy with demonstrated success in leading safe, productive projects that meet or exceed quality standards while satisfying client needs.
- Knowledge and experience in P&L financial operations, budgeting, cost control, and negotiation.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and portray a positive and professional image to clients.
- Competitive attitude while working in a team environment and awareness of competitive pressures.
- Knowledge of sales/marketing processes in construction and a proven track record of successful transactions.
- Frequent travel and off-hour time to support business objectives.
