Position Summary:

  • The Manager of Prevention Programs will oversee the organization, implementation, and assessment of primary prevention and early intervention initiatives within the Alcohol and Other Drugs Programs (including AOD, FASD, SAMP, or RTR).
  • This role includes providing administrative assistance to the Director of Prevention and Early Intervention and supporting the operations of various prevention and early intervention services as required.
  • The Manager will ensure that all programs within the prevention department deliver high-quality, appropriate services while adhering to professional standards.
  • Daily interactions with the target population will be essential to provide educational outreach, intervention services, and referrals as necessary.

Key Qualifications:

  • Expertise in health promotion and prevention methodologies; experience in community health environments; understanding of business management principles related to strategic planning, resource allocation, and leadership.
  • Proficient in customer service; capable of managing challenging interactions effectively; able to engage with healthcare professionals and clients.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills; adept at conflict resolution and maintaining composure in challenging situations.
  • Experience in budget management and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Commitment to cultural diversity and sensitivity.
  • Knowledge of mental health practices.
  • Ability to respond to urgent situations with a focus on minimizing trauma for clients and staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • Prevention Specialist Certification (CPS) within 18 months of employment.

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in primary prevention, particularly with adolescents and young adults, along with proficiency in presentation facilitation.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

Salary:

  • Starting pay at $26.49 per hour, with adjustments based on experience, education, and certification.
