Job Summary

The Accounting Professional will be responsible for recording and maintaining daily and monthly transactions to General Ledger accounts, reconciling bank balances and other balance sheet accounts, and reviewing and analyzing financial data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record and approve transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations.
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, gathering, recording and analyzing data.
  • Assist Controller in creating, editing and reviewing accounting policies for improvements.
  • Participate in external audits, working auditors and preparing work papers.
  • Post bi-weekly payroll entries to General Ledger, prepare and post payroll accruals.
  • Manage and record all prepaid expenses.
  • Work with the Finance team during the fiscal period ends to gather, analyze and record Inventory counts and expenses.
  • Assist Controller with sub-ledger to GL account reconciliations and confirmations.
  • Cross training with other Finance Team members to ensure continuity of work coverage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of corporate accounting experience. Manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook) with the ability to learn new systems. Sage experience a plus.
  • Self-motivated and organized with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced mathematical and logical deduction skills.
  • Ability to operate office equipment (printers, scanners, fax machines, etc.).
