Job Summary:

The successful candidate will research, develop, evaluate, and integrate AI capabilities, with a particular focus on security and trust, especially for large language models. This role involves working in cross-functional teams to develop and implement AI/ML solutions, analyzing AI use cases, and recommending secure and trustworthy solutions to sponsors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams to develop and implement AI/ML solutions, including capabilities that leverage large language models
  • Analyze AI use cases and recommend secure and trustworthy solutions to sponsors
  • Prototype AI and/or large language model-based tools to meet operational needs
  • Evaluate technology solutions in the context of mission data and workflow needs, and provide actionable recommendations
  • Convey complex ideas to non-technical audiences through briefings and/or white papers
  • Lead or significantly contribute in projects or small teams to solve complex AI security problems for our sponsors

Requirements:

  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related disciplines; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 2 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience
  • Demonstrated recent experience with large language models
  • Demonstrated advanced skills with Python and the standard ML stack (Tensorflow/Torch, NumPy, Pandas, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently to learn new technologies, methods, processes, frameworks/platforms, and systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate challenging technical concepts to both lay and expert audiences
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance
  • ​​This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site​

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in computer science, engineering, or related disciplines
  • Track-record of successful deployment of AI/ML systems or components that have been used by customers or stakeholders outside of a lab/experimental setting
  • Active IC or DOD TS/SCI security clearance
  • 5+ years of impactful work experience in AI-related fields
