We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented accounting professional to join our finance department at Ambient Edge, LLC, a Friendly Group company.

This individual will report directly to the Controller and is expected to possess excellent organizational abilities along with a keen aptitude for monitoring and documenting cash flow.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in managing a financial information database and will be adept at identifying and resolving any issues that may arise.

We value integrity and a strong work ethic, and we are looking for someone eager to learn and enhance existing processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Comprehend fundamental accounting principles to create and reconcile journal entries within the general ledger and uphold monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Execute monthly tasks and journal entries necessary for the financial closing process.
  • Process customer payments (including ACHs, checks, and cash), and transfer entries to accounting software for customer invoices and payments. Adjust invoices as necessary for finance charges and discounts based on agreements with commercial clients.
  • Conduct bank deposits as required for checks and cash.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly customer statements.
  • Address customer inquiries as needed through the accounting communication channels.
  • Issue refunds upon receiving the appropriate approvals.
  • Manage returned checks or chargebacks promptly and communicate as necessary.
  • Review credit applications for commercial clients and update customer accounts accordingly.
  • Complete vendor setup requests for new commercial clients.
  • Generate and report a weekly Accounts Receivable Aging report by customer, and devise a strategy to investigate and resolve overdue balances.
  • Assist with periodic audit requests.
  • Collect overdue customer invoices when necessary and initiate collections as required.
  • Handle other ad-hoc requests or reporting as directed by the Controller.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline (or nearing completion).
  • 1-2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Strong grasp of General Ledger accounting and Accounts Receivable processes.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a patient approach.
  • Desire to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment with a hybrid work schedule.
  • Familiarity with Accounting ERP systems, particularly Sage Intacct and Service Titan, is advantageous.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
