Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Porter to enhance our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing essential housekeeping and maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for both residents and staff. You will work closely with the Maintenance Director to address the upkeep of our facilities and equipment.

Shift Details:
Hours: 11am to 7:30pm
Schedule: Monday to Friday with rotating weekends
Compensation: $20.00 to $23.75 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and adhere to practices for the safe handling of biohazardous materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laundry room, following chemical storage guidelines.
  • Utilize specific cleaning chemicals according to established standards.
  • Exhibit strong mechanical skills and effectively manage work orders.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks, including light electrical work, painting, and carpentry.

Maintenance Qualifications:
Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures related to chemical use and show a willingness to learn new skills as required.

Housekeeping Duties:

  • Conduct thorough cleaning of resident apartments as scheduled, including:
    • Bathrooms: Clean and sanitize toilet bowls, sinks, bathtubs, and floors.
    • Kitchens: Wipe down surfaces and mop floors.
    • Vacuum all exposed areas, ensuring edges are included.
    • Empty and clean wastebaskets as needed.
    • Wash windows from the inside as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness in common areas, including elevators, hallways, stairs, and activity spaces, adhering to established standards.
  • Ensure the laundry room remains clean and organized, with proper chemical storage.
