Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Lead Substation Physical Engineer to join our team in Atlanta, GA. As a key member of our Power Delivery Services Team, you will be responsible for leading and designing high voltage utility substation projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform conceptual and detailed HV and MV Substation Physical/Electrical design for medium to large scale utilities/substations.
  • Lead advanced engineering studies and calculations.
  • Conduct Quality Control reviews on medium to large substation physical design projects.
  • Develop and review bill of materials for substation physical projects.
  • Develop and provide advanced technical presentations to the team.
  • Interact with clients and provide site visits to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field with 8+ years of Substation physical design experience.
  • Leadership experience in executing substation projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with internal teams and clients.
  • Ability to lead bids and proposal efforts for utility clients.
  • Ability to perform quality control checks on substation design projects.
  • Act as a supervisor for 1-6 direct reports.
  • Ability to read and design substation physical drawings.
  • Ability to read and design substation protection and control drawings.
  • Ability to create and check bill of materials for substation physical.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) License.
  • Master's degree in related field.
  • Experience with QA/QC.
  • Working knowledge of protection and control design.
  • Experience with BUS calculations.
  • Experience with WinIGS or CDEGS.
  • Experience with SDS AutoCAD Electrical software.
