Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Inspector to join our team in Greene County, OH. As an Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of construction of utility-related projects, including sanitary sewer and water main construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect pipes, manholes, valves, hydrants, reinforcing steel, concrete, gravel bedding, and backfill to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Inspect grinder pumps and ensure correct pipe grade, location of sanitary lateral, and water service.
  • Record measurements of pipe between all fittings and take offset measurements.
  • Ensure all utility lines are kept in service for property owners and utility companies.
  • Coordinate road crossing/closing signage with municipalities.
  • Maintain a professional manner when interacting with internal and external customers.
  • Comply with workplace health and safety standards, including wearing personal protective equipment and reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Locate and mark existing sanitary mains, laterals, water mains, services, and electrical services.
  • Study public work project plans, contract documents, regulations, and specifications to ensure contractor compliance.
  • Attend project preconstruction and progress meetings.
  • Oversee air, vacuum, and mandrel testing of sanitary mains, laterals, and manholes.
  • Oversee pressure and leakage testing of water mains, services, and fire hydrants.
  • Gather bacteriological samples for laboratory testing to comply with Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA) requirements.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.).
  • 36 months of experience in sanitary sewer and water main construction.
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License.
