About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a Diagnostic Ultrasound Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Maternal Fetal Medicine department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of specialized technical tasks in Diagnostic Ultrasound, utilizing high frequency sound waves to assist medical and professional personnel in detecting anatomical abnormalities.
  • Conduct complex technical tasks in Diagnostic Ultrasound, including performing portable ultrasound exams, determining, preparing, and setting up medical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
  • Evaluate technical quality of images to obtain representative images of pathogenic conditions, process in accordance with standard procedures or techniques.
  • Provide technical assistance and instruction to students, employees, and medical residents, and identify the needs of the patient population served and modify and deliver care that is specific to those needs.
  • Assist in procedures such as Amniocentesis, Chorionic Villi Sampling, and fetal reductions, and perform Gyn U/S exams.
Requirements
  • Graduate of approved Ultrasound School.
  • A minimum of 2 years training in Allied Health/College.
  • A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in OB/GYN ultrasound.
  • Knowledge of all ultrasound equipment, their function, and operation of each control.
  • Understanding of equipment and computer systems as well as the procedures for equipment service.
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.
  • Knowledge of safety, infection, and disaster policy and procedures, including implementation of patient care in cases of an emergency situation.
  • Ability to cover weekends on a rotation basis (roughly once every six weeks).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in OB/GYN ultrasound.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certification.
  • Nuchal Translucency Certification.
  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
