Job Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant will perform delegated clinical and administrative duties consistent with Medical Assistant program education, training, and experience. May work in both the clinical and front office functions of the practice providing clerical support, assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care support activities at the direction of the physician/provider.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform delegated clinical and administrative duties consistent with Medical Assistant program education, training, and experience.
  • Work in both the clinical and front office functions of the practice.
  • Provide clerical support, assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care support activities at the direction of the physician/provider.
  • May be required to have BLS through the American Heart Association if working in the Rural Health Clinic setting.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Certificate of completion/Diploma from a medical assistant program or Certificate of completion from Guild certified medical assistant clinical education and applied learning program.
  • CMA-Certified Medical Assistant Current certification by one the following approved certifying agencies: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), earning CMA credential, American Medical Technologists (AMT), earning RMA credential, National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), earning NCMA credential, National HealthCare Association (NHA), earning CCMA credential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a medical office assistant or CNA or equivalent.
  • Previous experience with an electronic health record, phlebotomy.
