Job Summary

Geisinger Health System is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team. As a PICU RN, you will provide high-quality patient care to critically ill children, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and prioritize patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans to address physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, including medication administration, diagnostic testing, and treatment.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting health literacy and empowering them to take an active role in their care.
  • Participate in unit-based decision-making, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless transitions of care, promoting continuity and coordination of services.
Requirements
  • Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Nursing (Required)
  • Basic Life Support Certification (Required)
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) (Required)
