Job Summary

Montefiore Medical Center is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our Rehabilitation Medicine team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
  • Conduct Modified Barium Swallow studies and Fiberoptic Evaluation of Swallow Studies (FEES) as needed.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address patient needs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.
  • Document patient progress and communicate effectively with healthcare teams.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certification by the American Speech and Hearing Association (CCC-SLP).
  • Current New York State license and registration in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Experience working with medically complex and critically ill patients.
  • Knowledge of cranio-facial abnormalities, congenital heart defects, gastrointestinal disorders, tracheostomized patients, and head and neck cancer.
  • Fluency in Spanish is ideal.
