Job Title: Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Paramount Schools of Excellence. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing support services, direct instruction, and supervision for students with special needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct support services to individual students, small groups, and classrooms.
  • Utilize data-driven instruction and educational frameworks to ensure delivery of standards-driven instruction to all students in the special education program.
  • Complete assessments, referrals, and conferences with students, staff, and families.
  • Oversee implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and 504 programs.
  • Collaborate with the Special Education Director, school psychologist, and other professional staff to identify and understand strategies for support and instruction.
  • Complete home or offsite visits as delegated.
  • Develop and maintain family communication programs and community partnerships.
  • Serve as a member of school-based behavioral and outreach teams.
  • Provide direct service and oversee special education team scheduling for students in all push-in and pull-out programs.
  • Complete reports and follow-up documentation as required by federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Contribute to a strong school education team by serving on school committees and participating in ongoing local operations and state and federal obligations.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in special education (master's preferred).
  • Certification in restraints/Non-Violent Crisis Intervention preferred.
  • Unwavering commitment to quality programs and production.
  • Excellent organizational management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and set and achieve strategic objectives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to planning.
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
  • Passion, idealism, integrity, grit, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed.
Preferred Skills:
  • Proficiency in technology.
  • Knowledge of leadership and management principles as they relate to charter schools.
  • Knowledge of current community challenges and opportunities relating to the mission of the organization.
