About Our Team

The ideal candidate will exhibit strategic thinking, possess strong analytical skills, and thrive in a collaborative environment. This role involves supporting Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) across various operations, focusing on the design and implementation of control enhancements while collaborating with team members to maintain and troubleshoot existing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary resource for process control across multiple production lines, including all related PLCs, HMIs, and networks.
  • Design, implement, and configure advanced control strategies while maintaining comprehensive design specifications for control systems.
  • Assist in optimization initiatives and Advanced Process Control projects.
  • Support operational processes by diagnosing and enhancing existing systems for improved performance.
  • Act as a project resource for new instrumentation or automation systems.
  • Collaborate with corporate teams to integrate new technologies that bolster advanced manufacturing practices.
  • Contribute to the mill's safety program through active participation and observation.
  • Work closely with operational staff to identify improvement opportunities and resolve issues.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of three years of experience in Process Control or Automation.
  • Background in PLC programming.
  • Experience in reviewing basic loop diagrams and P&IDs.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and create control documentation and schematics.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the Pulp and Paper sector.
  • Familiarity with Honeywell and Foxboro DCS platforms.
  • Knowledge of control system network architecture (e.g., Ethernet, ControlNet, firewalls, and DH+).
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering discipline or relevant industrial experience as an electrical or instrumentation technician.
