Job Summary

This position is designed to work closely with the Hematopathologist Faculty to perform various Bone Marrow functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical laboratory technology and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and enter laboratory data into EPIC consult cases
  • Perform the 500 cell differential
  • Prepare for the weekly tumor board presentation
  • Teach residents and other assigned duties as needed
  • Perform Patient and Quality Control (QC) testing
  • Maintain proper inventories and correctly use supplies and reagents
  • Perform advanced equipment trouble-shooting and equipment maintenance
  • Ensure a smooth transition to the next shift
  • Participate in quality safety and compliance programs
  • Investigate documents and resolve problems or complaints
  • Serve as trainer and role model for Clinical Laboratory Scientist 1 staff and health care professional students
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or equivalent
  • ASCP certification required within 24 months or military experience equivalent to the ASCP
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs
  • Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to write legibly
Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $27.84 - $44.54 Hourly and a comprehensive benefits package.
