Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our Student Health Services team at Lubbock Independent School District. As a School Nurse (LVN), you will provide direct care, minor first aid, and minor emergency care for ill and injured students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic care, first aid, and emergency care for students and staff
  • Administer medication according to District policy and procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of medication dispensed
  • Perform delegated procedures, such as tube feedings and urinary catheterizations
  • Collaborate with campus administrators to ensure compliance with ARD committee decisions related to Health Services
  • Report knowledge or suspicion of communicable diseases to the Licensed Registered School Nurse
  • Maintain current nursing licenses, certifications, and state-mandated screenings
Requirements
  • Valid Texas Vocational Nurse License issued by the Texas Board of Nursing
  • Minimum of three years nursing experience in community health, hospital environment, physician's office, or school health
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR/AED) Certification
  • Valid Texas Driver's License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District
Preferred Qualifications
  • Pediatric/adolescent experience preferred
  • Certified by the Texas Department of State Health Services to administer Hearing, Vision and Spinal Screenings
