Position Overview:
The Department of Political Science and Global Affairs at NAFSA is seeking applications for an assistant professor role. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about educating undergraduate students and contributing to the academic community.

Areas of Expertise:
We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong background in comparative politics and/or global affairs. While we welcome a variety of specializations, we will prioritize those that align with our department's educational objectives, including but not limited to:

  • Environmental issues and climate change
  • Democracy versus authoritarianism
  • Comparative public policy analysis
  • Regions of focus: South Asia, Russia, China
  • International organizations and their roles
  • Security studies
  • Theoretical frameworks in International Relations

Teaching Responsibilities:
The standard teaching load for this position consists of introductory courses (such as comparative politics and international relations) along with advanced courses. The teaching structure involves a 2-2/2-3 load, meaning faculty members will instruct two undergraduate courses each semester, with one semester featuring a three-course load every other year.

Compensation:
The anticipated salary for this position is $87,000.00.
