Shields Health Care Group is seeking a skilled Operating Room RN to join our team at Shields Surgery Centers in Chelmsford, MA.
About the Role:This is a per diem position that requires a registered nurse with a minimum of one year of experience in ambulatory surgery, outpatient surgery, or OR nursing. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to remain calm under pressure, and have a compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
Responsibilities:- Provide general nursing care and leadership while working collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary caregivers to promote and restore patient's health.
- Perform peri-operative assessments of surgical patients based on surgical procedure, type of anesthesia, protocols/policies/procedures, and patient needs.
- Implement proper clinical protocols to ensure patient safety, comfort, and quality of care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to ensure a positive peri-operative experience.
- Assist with precepting new caregivers and promoting teamwork within the OR suite.
- Current nursing license in the state of Massachusetts, free of sanctions and disciplinary actions.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.
