The Senior Engineering Support Specialist will play a crucial role in delivering high-level technical assistance in the evaluation, testing, configuration, and repair of various Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) and Command and Control (C2) systems. This position supports multiple platforms catering to Department of Defense end users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough equipment assessments on Depot Level Repairable (DLR) materials returned from fleet users, focusing on beyond economical repair analysis and restoration to Ready for Issue (RFI) status.
  • Assist in resolving Casualty Repairs (CASREPs) and fleet failure incidents to restore systems to operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with vendors to monitor warranty repairs and keep helpdesk tickets updated.
  • Examine materials received as RFI assets to ensure they are free from damage due to repair or procurement prior to entering the inventory management system.
  • Conduct Not Ready for Issue (NRFI) Screening/Testing on assets to confirm failure occurrences.
  • Investigate warranty coverage for NRFI assets before initiating repair processes and coordinate with the Original Equipment Manufacturer for repair or replacement.
  • Validate requisitions using Allowance Parts Lists (APLs) and CDMDOA to guarantee proper material configuration.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience with an Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, mathematics, or science; or seven (7) years of relevant experience with a High School diploma or GED.
  • Proven experience in the design, preparation, and modification of engineering documentation and schematics.
  • Capability to undertake non-standardized tasks, selecting or adapting procedures or equipment based on applicable precedents.

Educational Background:

  • Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, mathematics, or science; or
  • Formal electronics training from a Technical School, Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or completion of a four-year electronics apprenticeship program; or
  • High School diploma or GED.
