Swim Instructor Opportunity at Hockomock Area YMCA

The Hockomock Area YMCA is seeking a qualified Swim Instructor to join our team. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching swimming lessons to individuals of all ages and skill levels, following the YMCA's swim lesson guidelines and philosophies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach swimming lessons to diverse age groups and populations
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of students
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Attend instructor in-services and stay up-to-date on YMCA policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • Current YMCA Swim Instructor certification or Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification
  • Ability to tread water and swim a minimum of 100 yards
  • Basic knowledge of all competitive strokes
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with completion of certification within 6 months of hire
  • CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen certification within the first 30 days of employment
