Position Title: Accountant Level I - (SECRET CLEARANCE)

Position Overview: MILVETS is actively seeking to fill a full-time Accountant Level I - (SECRET CLEARANCE) role. The successful candidate will be tasked with supporting government operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute a range of budgetary tasks in alignment with the organization's financial policies and programs.
  • Analyze and develop program requirements; prepare, oversee, justify, and defend budgets; monitor acquisition timelines and program milestones; track obligations and expenditures throughout contract execution; initiate and manage procurement and budget documentation.
  • Support various budgetary reports, from straightforward data requests to more intricate financial documents.
  • Manage budget and funding execution utilizing GFEBS and LMP; collaborate with Program Analysts to ensure budget balance and funding requirements are met.
  • Prepare execution documents including Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPRs), Procurement Work Directives (PWDs), and funding reports.
  • Ensure the accuracy of budget data estimates through statistical methods, such as extensions, averages, and trend analysis of historical data.
  • Monitor and track obligations and expenditures for assigned accounts using relevant budgetary forms, schedules, and reports.
  • Confirm that obligations and expenditures are processed timely in accordance with the annual work plan and regulatory guidelines.
  • Independently address and resolve any budgetary discrepancies.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.

Substitutions: Four (4) additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.

Experience: A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience with GFEBS, including preparation of execution documentation such as MIPRs, and LMP experience with PWDs, as well as financial reporting on the status of funds (SOF) and financial management with appropriated funding. This experience must be within the DoD Program Executive Office (PEO), Project Manager (O6 PM), or Product Manager (O5 PdM) to be considered relevant.

Preferred Qualifications: Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) by the Army Society of Military Comptrollers (ASMC).

Clearance Requirement: Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information; an Active United States Department of Defense Secret clearance is mandatory.
