Automation Engineer

Job Summary
New Balance is seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer to join our team. As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for introducing new automation and robotics technologies to our manufacturing facilities, strengthening manufacturing as a competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze new advanced manufacturing trends and techniques, automation, robotics, and assembly tools to identify opportunities for technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing facilities.
- Work closely with the Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Development, and Health & Safety departments to ensure project success.
- Manage assigned projects, prepare plans, and create DOEs for successful testing and onboarding of new equipment.
- Successfully document new processes and ensure successful transitions to other teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing, Chemical, Plastics, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant work experience, Masters preferred.
- Experience designing test rigs and integrating sensors for data collection.
- Familiarity with DOE, life testing, lean principles, Six Sigma, and IQ/OQ/PQ.
- Collaboration, teamwork, and the ability to mentor junior engineers is essential.
- Skilled at Solidworks and Flow simulation.
- 6-axis robotics experience with Fanuc, ABB, UR, Epson, or Kawasaki.
