Position Overview

Cashier

Department: Front End
Reports To: Front End Manager
Compensation: $16.00 to $21.67 per hour

Job Summary: The Cashier is responsible for executing cashier duties with precision and speed while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver outstanding service to customers, creating a welcoming atmosphere that aligns with the Co-op's service standards.
  • Process transactions accurately, including receiving payments and providing change.
  • Minimize errors in transactions and ensure correct pricing and department entries.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all product codes and register operations.
  • Stay informed about all Front End processes and assist in various tasks when not engaged at the register.
  • Support customers in establishing and renewing Co-op memberships.
  • Assist with bagging groceries and perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Safety and Maintenance:
  • Utilize safe practices while performing job functions.
  • Keep the work area organized and tidy.
  • Wear appropriate attire, including nametag and close-toed shoes.
  • Promptly report any safety or security issues.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to scheduled shifts and arrive prepared for work.
  • Assist customers as necessary, including resolving conflicts.
  • Provide guidance to new employees and set a positive example for peers.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and follow all Co-op policies as outlined in the employee handbook.
