About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director of Apparel and Accessories Design to join our team at Deckers Brands. As a key member of our creative team, you will be responsible for leading the design direction for UGG's apparel and accessories product lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the strategic design direction for UGG's apparel and accessories product lines.
  • Lead a team of designers to create innovative and commercially profitable designs that meet the brand's financial goals and strategic brand positioning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify industry best practices and implement design initiatives that drive efficiency, control costs, and improve category profitability.
  • Communicate and drive design performance measurement standards and KPIs to ensure design initiatives meet category financial goals and profitability standards.
  • Partner with innovation, color, and materials teams to incorporate new concepts into seasonal themes and designs.
  • Prepare and present design projects, clearly communicating design vision and ensuring adherence to design deadlines to meet critical path dates.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a group of talented and inspired product, color, and material designers, fostering a team culture that incorporates Deckers Brand Values.
Requirements
  • 15+ years of related design experience within multiple categories for both women's and men's apparel.
  • 10+ years of people leadership experience with multiple direct reports.
  • Master's degree in design or related field preferred.
  • Expert ability to create technical apparel drawings and demonstrate knowledge in current trends and the ability to interpret trends.
  • Strong understanding of and experience employing product design, construction techniques, and appropriate use of materials, including extensive knowledge and full understanding of apparel design, apparel trims, product design including materials, color, etc.
  • Ability to train and develop team members based on individual talents, and support internal career path and development.
  • Experience mentoring and providing regular feedback to team members that foster skill development and performance improvement, including tough conversations.
