Transportation Design Director

WSB LLC is seeking a highly skilled Director of Transportation Design to lead the design and coordination of roadway, drainage, and utility projects for our public and private clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver top-quality projects and exceptional service to clients.
• Identify and pursue strategic partnerships, business development opportunities, and individual project opportunities.
• Lead contract negotiations, prepare detailed scopes of services, estimate fees, and establish budgets for potential projects.
• Manage strategic pursuits and projects, providing team management and program leadership for the team.
• Explore, suggest, respond to, and track upcoming projects and programs, monitoring backlog, pipeline, and opportunity management within a CRM environment.
• Assist with proposals, project budgets, and schedules, planning activities, subcontractors, and public involvement, as well as other presentation opportunities.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the Transportation Design group in North Texas.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or similar degree from an accredited school.
• 10+ years of experience in Transportation/Municipal engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in cultivating strategic partnerships in a leadership position.
• Proven ability to deliver services and/or projects in the market.
• Ability to build relationships with engineers, contractors, and government leaders.
• Track record of developing high-performing teams through mentoring, accountability, and feedback.
• Proven ability to build and professionally develop a multi-disciplinary team.
• Ability to drive growth within a team and desire to scale success to multi-disciplinary team growth.
• Ability to cross-sell services among transportation, surface water, municipal engineering, construction, environmental, and other services offered by WSB LLC.
• Candidates must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• A TX PE license or ability to obtain in the next 6 months, experience with managing a team of 2-3 direct reports and a large portfolio of projects.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic will allow you to excel in this position.
