Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Transportation Design to lead our Transportation Design group in North Texas. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and coordination of roadway, drainage, and utility projects for our public and private clients.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and coordination of roadway, drainage, and utility projects for our public and private clients.
- Collaborate with other groups/disciplines within the company to deliver top-quality projects and unparalleled service to our clients.
- Identify and pursue strategic partnership, business development, and individual project opportunities.
- Lead contract negotiations and prepare detailed scope of services, estimate fees, and establish budgets for potential projects.
- Manage strategic pursuits and projects.
- Provide team management and program leadership for the team, including talent acquisition and staff development.
- Explore, suggest, respond to, and track upcoming projects and programs.
- Monitor backlog, pipeline, and opportunity management within a CRM environment.
- Help with proposals, project budgets, and schedules, planning activities, subcontractors, and public involvement and other presentation opportunities.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Transportation Design group in North Texas.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or similar degree from an accredited school.
- 10+ years of experience in Transportation/Municipal engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in cultivating strategic partnerships in a leadership position.
- Proven ability to deliver services and/or projects in the market.
- Ability to build relationships with engineers, contractors, and government leaders.
- Track record of developing high-performing teams through mentoring, accountability, and feedback.
- Proven ability to build and professionally develop a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to drive growth within a team and desire to scale success to multi-disciplinary team growth.
- Ability to cross-sell services among transportation, surface water, municipal engineering, construction, environmental, and other services company offers.
- Ability to collaborate with staff from multiple offices to deliver projects and programs to our clients.
- Candidates must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- A TX PE license or ability to obtain in the next 6 months, experience with managing a team of with 2-3 direct reports and a large portfolio of projects.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic will allow you to excel in this position.
