Position Overview:
As a member of our maintenance team, you will engage in pipefitting and welding activities within our maintenance workshop and in the field, addressing equipment maintenance, repairs, or replacements in a chemical manufacturing environment.
This role reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and is based onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to adhere to installation specifications.
- Ensure equipment (including pumps, turbines, compressors, and piping) is maintained to exacting standards.
- Rebuild and fabricate components while conducting preventative maintenance on machinery.
- Execute tasks within vessels and tanks as required.
- Perform plumbing repairs and manage pipe replacements, including insulation tasks.
- Utilize hand tools for repairs, such as replacing relief and gate valves.
- Operate forklifts and man lifts safely.
- Maintain physical readiness to stand, walk, climb, and lift regularly.
- Be available for occasional overtime and emergency call-outs.
- Complete additional responsibilities as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a pipefitter/welder.
- AA Degree or relevant Technical Certifications preferred.
- Proficient in TIG and shielded metal arc welding on high-pressure stainless steel and carbon steel piping in accordance with ASME Code.
- Successful completion of welding tests on GMAW and SMAW per R Stamp Procedure.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in a Microsoft Office environment.
- Ability to read and interpret policies and procedures effectively.
- Commitment to working safely and promoting the health and safety of yourself, colleagues, and the environment.
