SUPPLY CHAIN PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST

POSITION SUMMARY

The Supply Chain Procurement Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing the procurement department by evaluating both internal and external data, identifying cost-reduction strategies, and streamlining internal workflows. This position will require the development and presentation of functional and supplier performance metrics, along with the provision of timely and precise reporting.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Evaluation and Reporting:

  • Identify and continuously update all data sources relevant to strategic sourcing categories, including expenditure data, external market research, and product specifications.
  • Develop and sustain pertinent data storage and reporting mechanisms, such as databases, spreadsheets, and web-based content management systems.
  • Oversee, enhance, and report on the procurement project savings tracker.
  • Create and maintain effective data extraction processes and programs for updating data storage and reporting systems.
  • Generate and maintain regular procurement performance reports.

Supplier and Category Oversight:

  • Assist sourcing project teams in crafting and executing category strategies, including the analysis of complex RFx documents.
  • Support the negotiation of contracts and agreements to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Help manage supplier relationships and maintain supplier information, including pricing, contracts, and performance metrics.

Process Enhancement:

  • Examine current Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes and recommend improvements for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assist in the identification and implementation of new P2P processes and tools.

KEY SKILLS (Essential):

  • Analytical Skills: Capability to analyze data and trends to uncover potential opportunities and strategies.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with MS Office Suite and data analysis tools.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to tackle issues and challenges with effective solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure precise and compliant data management and procurement processes.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities to effectively convey findings and strategies to stakeholders and team members.
  • Team Collaboration: Capacity to work effectively within a team and across various departments.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to comprehend and interpret business needs to identify procurement opportunities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Essential):

  • 1-5 years of experience or internship/Co-op in procurement, supply chain, or finance, preferably in an analytical capacity.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, including advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly procurement software and tools.
  • Understanding of procurement processes and strategic sourcing.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in the chemical industry, industrial manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with SQL, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Experience with Maximo or Microsoft AX.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field (minimum).
