Job Summary

Archer Daniels Midland Company is seeking a skilled Welder Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining our inland river barges and boats at our American River Transportation Company (ARTCo) location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintain steel structures using various welding techniques
  • Inspect and repair damaged steel to ensure watertight integrity
  • Perform general labor and housekeeping duties as required
  • Report all injuries, illnesses, and near misses in a timely manner
  • Participate in additional duties and responsibilities as required or requested
Requirements
  • Ability to use an oxygen/acetylene cutting torch to cut mild steel plate
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Welding certificate preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and Company human performance exam (physical ability test)
  • Standing for prolonged periods of time
  • Frequent heavy lifting
  • Prolonged periods of kneeling, bending, and climbing stairs/ladders
  • Ability to work near or on large bodies of water, at various heights, and in confined spaces
