Job Summary:

The Prep Cook - Food Preparation Specialist at Limelight Hotels is responsible for assisting with station assignments, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, and preparing hot and cold foods according to the Chef's specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, and cutting vegetables, meat, and other food items according to the Chef's instructions.
  • Cooking Duties: Cook food to order, reduce sauces, parboil food, and prepare simple dishes such as salads and entrees.
  • Station Setup and Maintenance: Set up and maintain the kitchen station, including mise-en-place, and ensure a clean and organized workspace.
  • Inventory Management: Help organize kitchen items, including dry goods, kitchen equipment, storage containers, cleaning supplies, and food deliveries.
  • Sanitation and Cleaning: Maintain station cleanliness throughout the shift, wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, and take out trash.
  • Production Planning: Submit production needs for the following day by shift end.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Chef or management.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Prior experience in food preparation and cooking is preferred.
