Nutrition Therapist

The Clinical Dietician plays a pivotal role in healthcare institutions, providing specialized nutrition therapy and dietary guidance to patients. This position requires close collaboration with healthcare teams to assess patients' nutritional needs and develop tailored diet plans to promote recovery and manage medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Nutritional Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments to identify patients' nutritional needs and develop individualized meal plans.
- Collaboration with Medical Staff: Work closely with healthcare teams to integrate nutrition therapy into patient care plans.
- Patient Monitoring: Regularly monitor and document patients' nutritional status and progress.
- Dietary Counseling: Provide patients with specific medical conditions or dietary restrictions with personalized dietary advice.
- Team Meetings: Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment plans.
- Nutrition Education: Develop and implement nutrition education programs for patients and their families.
- Professional Development: Stay informed about the latest research and developments in nutritional science and incorporate best practices into patient care.
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
- Registered Dietician (RD) credential.
- Licensure or certification as a dietitian in the state of practice.
- Proven experience in clinical nutrition or dietetics.
- Strong knowledge of medical nutrition therapy and assessment techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for counseling and educating patients.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Proficiency in using nutrition assessment tools and software.
- Familiarity with dietary guidelines, food composition, and menu planning.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on nutrition research.
- Understanding of ethical and confidentiality principles in patient care.
- Empathy, patience, and a compassionate approach to patient interaction.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing healthcare environments and patient needs.
Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
