Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to operate ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies. The successful candidate will accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings, review patient medical records, and position patients for accurate ultrasound procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies
  • Accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings
  • Review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information
  • Position patients for accurate ultrasound procedures
  • Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate
  • Maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system
  • Communicate findings to physicians and patients
Requirements:
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Vascular Sonography (VS) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Vascular Specialist (RVS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS-AE) registration with Adult Echo issued by the ARDMS
  • Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Sonography
  • No experience required
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and twist throughout the workday. They must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance. They must also be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.

May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids; therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.

Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
