Job Overview

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR MILITARY AFFILIATED CANDIDATES - Our organization collaborates with partner firms to identify qualified professionals for their open positions. This role is available to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers. This role involves delivering personal financial services at designated military sites.

Key responsibilities encompass a comprehensive range of personal financial counseling services for military personnel and their families at military installations.

Services provided include education and counseling on financial matters, which may involve one-on-one consultations, collaboration with a commander or other staff, conducting informative briefings and presentations, or offering referral resources outside the context of a counseling session.

Engages closely with the installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to ensure that the program is effective and meets the needs of the installation.

Delivers personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.

Assists service members in creating a financial plan for extended absences.

Develops and disseminates informational financial materials to service members and their families.

Coordinates, promotes, and conducts a variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops, covering topics relevant to the military lifecycle, including, but not limited to, initial duty station arrival, pre- and post-deployment, and personal and career events outlined in DoDI.

Responds to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.


Possesses the ability to effectively utilize virtual counseling or other electronic communication methods, such as web-based platforms, secure online chat, or video-based communications, including secure video teleconferencing sponsored by the customer.

Virtual PFC support may only be authorized by OSD FINRED Program office.

Manages duty to warn situations in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) protocols.


Communicates with leadership and engages in regular individual and group supervision, sharing insights regarding trends and issues at the installations to which the counselor is assigned.

Participates in ongoing training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned or appropriate.

All other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree required.

Consideration may be given to applicants with an associate degree plus 4 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

Applicants with a high school diploma plus 6 years of experience may also be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

3+ years of experience in financial counseling is required.

Must be a U.S. citizen and possess fluent English language skills.

Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 1 investigation is necessary.


Must hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

This position may be eligible for short-term incentives as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
