Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Psych Social Worker to join our team at Children's National Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality psychiatric and psychosocial assessments to children and adolescents in our Emergency Room and Inpatient Psychiatry Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health needs, using DSM V criteria to determine risk and need for hospitalization and/or case disposition.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans that meet patients' diagnostic and treatment needs.
  • Provide consultation and education to patients, families, and healthcare staff on mental health issues and treatment options.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community resources and placements to support patients' treatment goals.
  • Document patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress in a clear and timely manner.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
  • Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) licensure, with preference for LCSW or LICSW.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, particularly in pediatric mental health.
  • Knowledge of community resources and placements for children and families.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
